Chair’s Report – February 2025

Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Can you believe we’re already halfway through February?

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to attend today’s meeting. I’m
sorry I can’t be there with you, but I know you all have a productive discussion. A special
thank you to Kevin for stepping in on my behalf.

It’s been a while since our last meeting, and I’m pleased to report that progress on the
trail has been going well. A huge thank you to our management committee and
volunteers who have worked tirelessly to keep the project moving forward. I know others
will cover the details in their reports, but key updates include the toilets and sand
shelter at Golembil, the Mundubbera Rotary project, the trail counter installation, and
several other initiatives. Volunteers have also been busy mowing and spraying, thanks
to the lovely rain we’ve received across all areas of the rail trail but the grass keeps on
growing.

A special shoutout to Vicki Mackay, you’ve been an inspiration in coordinating and
compiling the information for the new signage, made possible through funding from the
Calliope & Gladstone Community Bank (Bendigo). Your efforts are truly appreciated.
To help with keeping our social media presence active, I’ve added Kyle as an admin on
our Facebook page, as I’m finding it difficult to keep up with posting updates.

Lastly, Craig and I would love to invite you all to the Grand Hotel Many Peaks for the next
Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail meeting. Our new project has been keeping us incredibly
busy, but we’re looking forward to things settling down in the near future.

Thanks again for your dedication and support. Wishing you all a fantastic month ahead!

Warm regards,
Desley
